Spotlight - KC Lewis

Kallis Charles "KC" Lewis is a writer and poet who self-published Argentum: Recursion and Argentum Daemones de Sanctis. Outside of writing, he plays games online with his friends - one hobby many of us other writers do as well.

As a young boy in first or second grade, he created a picture book for an assignment and the teacher made it into a hard-spined picture book. The assignment had to be from his writings and drawings.

KC dabbles in science fiction with supernatural and fantasy elements. "I just love to speculate about the wild things that could occur from things we don't understand," he commented in a written interview. While focusing more on these aspects, he tends to avoid coming-of-age stories as learning and maturing can happen at any age.

While taking a risk on himself, he has self-published two books. With his family on the sidelines keeping him going, he pushed to finish his book and publish it. Like others, the pros and cons of this path are doing it all yourself - especially with a full-time job and focusing on bills and living.

The future holds many things for KC - a full-time writer and a movie deal. Anything is possible with his "Don't Stop" attitude and advice for other upcoming authors. "Life will happen despite your plans so be gentle with yourself," he wrote - and it is very fitting.

Argentum: Recursion is his most recent novel, being published in June of 2022. His next one is hopeful to be done by the end of 2024, the working title is Changeblind, continuing Argentum with lore and expanding the universe.
